Strong, melodic, powerful vocal ability…..contemporary praise and worship artist.
Born in 1963 in Columbia, SC, she is the daughter of the late Thomas Foulks and the late Margaret Foulks, a quartet gospel singer who sang with the well‐known pastor Curtis Young in the 70s and 80s. Lela English was choir director at First Nazareth Baptist Church in the 70s and was amazed at 11 year old Wilma’s skillful singing, and consequently allowed her to join the choir even though she was one year shy of the starting age. Wilma has remained a member of that same choir since 1974. This same choir was where Columbia native Angie Stone received her first singing experiences. Ms. Wilma was even handpicked by Stone to sing in the celebrity’s late father’s funeral in 2009. Wilma was soon appointed to help direct this choir along with many others at First Nazareth. She was formally the Vocal Coordinator of local artist Eternal Voices. The persistence Ms. Wilma had when she was just 11 years old is still evident in her ministry today. Ms. Wilma is all about the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and through ministry, she presents herself as a LIVING SACRIFICE.
Ms. Wilma is the mother of Tiffany and Siera Wider (both are owners of Real Records and members of Eternal Voices), and she is married to Harold Brown. She is also the step-mother of Tramier Brown. |
